Job Description Action Force Transport Limited is hiring 4 permanent, full-time Long Haul Truck Drivers based out of our Brampton, Ontario terminal. EMPLOYER Action Force Transport Limited WORK LOCATION On the road. Work locations may vary; frequent or constant travel is required. Home terminal: Brampton, Ontario. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Permanent employment, full time, 50 to 60 hours per week. 4 vacancies. LANGUAGE OF WORK English WAGE $37.80 per hour. EDUCATION Secondary (high) school graduation certificate EXPERIENCE 3 years to less than 5 years CREDENTIALS AZ class licence / Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A). Valid driver's licence required. DUTIES Mountain driving expertise Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION Documentation knowledge: accident or incident reports; bill of lading; driver logbook; inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip); maintenance and repair reports; trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: refrigerated; tractor-trailer. Communication systems: GPS and other navigation equipment; trip recorder (on-board computer). Transportation/travel experience: long haul. SECURITY AND SAFETY Bondable. Criminal record check. Driver's licence validity check. Driving record check (abstract). Medical exam. WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES Attention to detail; repetitive tasks; sitting; weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs). OWN TOOLS / EQUIPMENT REQUIRED Cellular phone, hard hat, steel-toed safety boots, gloves.
