Supermarket Cashier

Cotris Enterprises Ltd. dba Gerry's Freshmart is seeking a reliable, honest, and hardworking Cashier to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and on call as needed. Education required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience Experience required: 1 to less than 7 months On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Work setting: Supermarket/grocery store Main Responsibilities Operate cash register Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments Scan items Tabulate total payment for goods or services required Receive payment for goods or services Stock shelves and clean counter area Greet customers Wrap or place merchandise in bags Weigh produce and bulk foods Provide customer service Assist customers with self-checkout Monitor all entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products Experience and specialization Computer and technology knowledge Electronic cash register Price scanner Security and safety Criminal record check Reference required Work conditions and physical capabilities Fast-paced environment Work under pressure Handling heavy loads Physically demanding Attention to detail Combination of sitting, standing, walking Standing for extended periods Bending, crouching, kneeling
