CHILD CAREGIVER (4 children) - PRIVATE HOME Location: Calgary, AB T2Y 3X4 Salary: $21.00 / Hour Vacancies: 1 Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, 40 Hours/week Start date: As soon as possible Employment conditions: Day, Early Morning, Evening, Morning, Night, On Call, May Work Overtime, Weekend, Flexible Hours Language: English Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year Security and Safety: basic security clearance Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Attention to details Work Location Information: Work in employer's/client's home Work Site Environment: Non-smoking Personal Suitability: Client focus, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Initiative, Judgement, Reliability, Time management, Patience, Honesty Children's Ages: 8 years, 9 years, 14 years and 16 years Specific Skills: • Supervise and care for children • Take children to and from school and to appointments • Tend to emotional well-being of children • Help children with homework • Assume full responsibility for household in the absence of parents • Shop for food and household supplies • Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents • Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development • Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home • Organize, activities such as games and outings for children • Prepare and serve nutritious meals • Prepare children for rest periods Additional Skills: • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties • Assume full responsibility for household in the absence of parents • Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties • Shop for food and household supplies Experience with special needs children: one of the children has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and suffers from anxiety and depression or mental health issues Target Audience: Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs) Work Setting: Employer's home, urban area Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate, CPR How to apply: By email at maryhope.reyes@yahoo.ca You can apply if you are: • a Canadian citizen • a permanent resident of Canada • a temporary resident of Canada with a valid work permit • Do not apply if you are not authorized to work in Canada.
