Marhaba Restaurant Located at 90 Gorge Rd W, Victoria, British Columbia V9A 1M1 is looking for a South Indian Chef The duties of the South Indian Chef will be as follows • Prepare and cook complete meals • Prepare authentic Hyderabadi biryani, Mandi, and South Indian and Arabian cuisine signature dishes. • Prepare, season, and cook a wide variety of South Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food • Create new recipes meeting restaurant requirements • Plan and develop authentic South Indian menus • Ensure food meets quality standards • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff • Train kitchen helpers and junior cooks in authentic South Indian cooking techniques • Innovate traditional recipes to suit Canadian clientele while maintaining authenticity • Ensure safe storage, handling, and preparation of food items This is a permanent and full-time position. Wage being offered is $37 per hour Must be willing to work flexible hours. SKILLS REQUIRED: 1) Completion of secondary school is required 2) Completion of diploma or any college program in related field will be considered as an asset. 3) 2-3 years of experience with South Indian food is required 4) Good at English as the language at work is English.
